The legislative body of Louisiana
Conference consists of the State Officers, elected and appointed State
Board members, the Regional Chairperson, and a delegate from each region.
Delegate Assembly convenes every other year in the fall to determine the
goals of the Conference for the next two coming years. After due
consideration of recommendations presented at the Assembly, the delegates
select and establish the priorities of each goal. Some of the priorities
selected in the past include: Support of efforts to develop Adult
Protection Laws, supporting the teaching of family life education,
promotion of shelters and services for battered spouses, continued support
of laws for intervention and services for the protection of neglected and
abused children.
Delegate Assembly was held in Gonzales on July 12-13, 2006. Delegate Assembly was originally scheduled to be held in the fall of 2005, but had to be postponed due to disaster relief efforts of most members. |
